Dec. 5th, 2010 11:31 amSo, for Hanukkah, the mate's folks got us a Wii Fit thingy. We had been talking about it during dinner last Sunday and they surprised us with it. It's all set up in the living room, and I've learned that not only am I out of shape (a fact of which I am painfully aware) but that my center of gravity kind of tilts towards the left (which could possibly be due to the very mild scoliosis that I have, or a lingering effect of the hip dysplasia with which I was born) and my balance is kind of bad.
So far, it's been fun to play with, even if its 'voice' is overly perky. What I like about it is that it also has yoga, stretching and balance exercises in addition to the aerobic activities, which are a bit odd. Imaginary hula hoops, for example :). The step workout kind of hammered home why I'll forever suck at DDR. No rhythm, yey. But already I've gotten better. Somewhat. I still manage to do the complete opposite of the occasional arrow.
In any case, it should make things interesting, which could help with sticking to doing it. The same exercises over and over get dull.
Of course, this is the worst time of year to start any sort of get in shape routine but eh, gotta start some time.
