In other news, I've started cutting back on my caffeine, primarily from soda, consumption. I'm not certain that it's a definite trigger for my headaches, or if it's working in conjunction with the artificial sweeteners in the diet sodas that I've been chugging for years, or if they're the possible culprit but eh, figured it was time to wean myself off it.

I'm not going cold turkey, because I'd probably kill someone, but decreasing what I drink over time.
So far (knocks on wood) it's been going well, no major headache issues, was sleepy as hell Friday night so crashed early.

Eventually my blood will contain blood, instead of caffeine, chemicals and who knows what else. :)

Edit @7:39PM--well it seems I spoke too soon about the lack of headaches. Ow. Dammit.

It might not be the caffeine but the carbon. I can drink and eat caffeine but only in HUGE doses do I get headachy... but give me a few drinks of a carbonated drink and I will beg you to KILL ME.

I suffered with a ton of headaches and migraines for years until I went to this Dr and I did everything he told me right then and there. At that point I was already off carbonated drinks but I still had a ton of food allergies. So I went cold turkey and just made sure I had healthy replacements ready to go. I got off: all carbs and carb snacks like chips (only ate sprouted breads and only rarely), flours and sugars, etc.... basically I just ate veggies and meats and some fruits. Fruits and tea with Raw Sugar were my only sweets. Sprouted bread with butter and grape jelly was my sweet tooth killer and crunchy-snack satisfier.

It really isn't that bad as long as you make sure to line-up healthy alternatives for those weak moments. :)

(and don't expect instant results if you do plan to go the "weaning" road as it will then take longer for all the headachy inducers to fully get out of your system)

*nods* I know. I just didn't want to face the work week, plus staff meeting, while going cold turkey so I opted for the longer route :)

The biggest problem with not going cold turkey for most people is when they don't see results fast enough they get frustrated and backslide. That's one reason I've always done things cold turkey for myself. Quit coffee in a day just like I changed my diet in a day... after I was up to a pot a day.
