Well, it's been about 2 and a half months since I got my new Fiesta, and I'm still enjoying it immensely. I really haven't seen many others on the road; in all my travels I've spotted a total of three: one in Connecticut(lucky bastard got the green I originally wanted), one in Pennsylvania, and one here in New Jersey. I broke 1000 miles on it on the 13th of this month, and by my reckoning I've filled the tank three times. Yay, combination of great gas mileage and me not going anywhere. :) The furthest I've driven in it so far was to visit my sister in the Medford area (about a 45 to 60 minute drive, depending on traffic and which way you go).

One of these days I'll figure out the rest of the buttons on the console, how to work the rest of the voice controls and how to get the silly thing to play mp3s from a flash drive or mp3 player. Yeah, I'm slacking in that department but I don't like playing with them when I'm driving and I'm never in the car unless I'm actually going somewhere so button pressing kind of falls to the wayside.

It's a good little car, though. Perfect for my needs, though I still feel the urge to decorate it with at least some form of bumper sticker or magnet thing or...something. Just don't know what yet.

The husband and I went to tinker with the Model A a bit, and managed to get it driven around the block without it stalling, at least until we returned to the driveway. A fairly successful run, at that.

Lunch was had at a place we don't go often, but their burgers are pretty good and that's what I was in the mood for. I'm told I fail at messy burger eating. (I hate, hate, -hate- having my fingers messy when eating, but it was a pretty tasty burger. I'd probably use up an entire tree worth of napkins at a barbecue joint.)

Stopped at pretentious kinda liquor store to get some wine, likely won't go there again. The store itself was fine, and the guy behind the counter was quite friendly, but the selection was small. We wanted to investigate it since it's close to home but we'll stick with the regular places we go to from now on.

Now it's laundry time. Bleh.

Well, in the next few months I will be looking to get a new car. I'm currently driving the husband's old Nissan Sentra, which is promised to his sister come spring, and my former Neon is bye-bye.

I had initially thought to, perhaps, go with a Dodge Caliber but so far all I've seen are some pretty horrid reviews. I don't need much from a vehicle, but it needs to be reliable and not wretched to drive. I don't even care if it's ugly. Hm, maybe a Honda Fit, or some such. I was really intrigued by the amusing test drive of the Ford Fiesta, linked in [livejournal.com profile] ionotter's journal (video here), but Car and Driver also gave it a pretty decent review.

Sadly I can't wait til Summer for it to be available in the States.
