Perchance to dream
Nov. 2nd, 2002 10:02 amIn my dream last night, I was wandering a deserted area, what has once been a carnival or faire or something. There were cages, empty, except for one. A white wolf had been left behind in its cramped prison. It jumped through the bars, whether it broke them or merely squeezed between them I can't remember; warped dream physics perhaps. Anyhoo, the wolf attacked. I grabbed its front paws to keep it from me, but I couldn't really attack back, knowing with that way you have in a dream, that the poor critter had been abused, neglected and was merely reacting to that. Wasn't his fault, really.
In that weird dream logic, my holding the wolf's paws kept him at bay, when in truth, all it had to do was lunge forward.
I was taught that if you're attacked/bitten by an animal, be it in dream or reality, then that animal has something to teach you. Ok Wolf, you have my attention.
