On hunting the elusive house...
Apr. 28th, 2002 11:42 amWeekends, indeed, should be three days long. I spent a major chunk of saturday driving back and forth, to and fro on a mission of house hunting. Mostly we just drove past each property on our list; trying to get an idea of any house is one we'd like to take another look at, both inside and out. Surprisingly, there were several good houses that merited a return visit. One thing we noticed is that in some cases, the photos did not do the property justice, and in others, the opposite was true. Guess we just needed to see with our own eyes. Several we liked, but ruled out when comparing factors like what the neighbours' houses looked like (hey I might think a house is a palace, but if there's scary people next door, then no palace is worth it. We're trying to get away from freaky neighbours), the area itself, roads, etc. It was fun, and a lovely day to do it in, but still, a house is a big step...a scary one at that. We're not in any particular hurry, so it's not as stressful as it could be, but still...
My mom thinks we should get married first, then go house hunting. (Mind you, she's not against the order we've chosen, I think she's just eager to attend her offspring's wedding) Guess I just like being contrary, tis the feline in me ;).
Now today, I've had to cram in everything that I didn't get done yesterday: the laundry (yet another trip to the weird laundromat) and the shopping, which will in all likelyhood be used as an excuse to cut short the rather un-looked-forward-to visit that looms later today. The mate's real father, of whom we're not too fond, but we're polite to whenever the rare visits occur. He's very into cars, and since Chad's (the mate) brother recently purchased a '67 or '68...something like that black corvette, well, we know that most of us are going to be bored with all the 'shop talk'. Bleh. Ah well, time to go get ready.
